Te Kārearea - the NZ native falcon - regularly visits the terrace with over flights. A breeding couple nests in the Precipice Gorge above the terrace and the birds are frequently seen soaring in the thermals. The species is not common so is considered a welcome visitor and was honoured by naming the section after it.
The vision for the section was to build a lodge aimed at conservation minded guests valuing the surrounding environment.
An architect was engaged to prepare a possible building impression and so the Te Karearea Project was born.
Although the land would lend itself well to such a project, this is only a concept and the opportunity to purchase leaves the buyer free to pursue their own dream albeit a secluded private residence.
